Students at M.E.S in Philadelphia are bright and eager to learn! At M.E.S, we use The Reader's and Writer's Workshop. Through the Units of Study students are instilled with a love of both reading and writing.
I believe all students can and will grow their love of reading in elementary school.
It is an amazing experience watching their excitement develop over the year. It is a privilege to teach these children reading and this project will continue to move that goal forward.
My Project
Materials in my wish list consist of books, accessories for technology, and classroom storage materials. The books selected within the project are both fiction and non-fiction. The non-fiction books will be a great asset to our classroom as we dive into our biography unit. In addition, the cases will protect our already purchased Amazon Fire Tablets. Materials such as privacy screens, storage bins, and pencil caddies will help keep both the students and myself organized.
The addition of these materials to our first grade classroom will not only strengthen my students as learners, but also and my effectiveness as an educator.
