My students need a classroom iPad so that they can run their programs and actually see them brought to life by our classroom robot! We also need a case and cord to display our iPad!

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend one of the largest, title I schools in New York City. They come from a diverse background. Many of them are from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico,Central and South America, Africa, Bangladesh, and that is just to name a few!

Even though their classmates come from all over, they work as one to achieve their goals!.

My students love working with each other to complete their tasks.

This year, our class has been chosen to participate in a new initiative, Computer Science For All (CS4ALL). We are one of only nine other schools in the city that were given this honor!

My Project

My students have recently completed their first course of block based programming on the computer. Now, they are ready to take what they've learned in those lessons and actually program their own Dash robot! As part of the CS4ALL initiative, our school has been given Dash and Dot Robots. However, those robots need an iPad to program them. We only have access to the technology cart once a week.

We need this classroom iPad, adapter, and protective case, so that we can use our robot daily!

My students love creating their own algorithms and they will be so excited to see their programs actually run on our robots. This classroom iPad will help to make computer science part of our day, every day!
