Students in a co- teaching classroom are such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some students are learning to comprehend grade level text, write essays, and do multi-step mathematics problems while other are learning to read fluently, write a sentence, or learn their addition facts. Despite their differences, our students always make an effort to encourage each other to do better and to try hard.
Our school is located in a rural part of our state and a large percentage of our students live below the poverty line causing many to have no access to computers or the internet at home.
As technology continues to be integrated into all aspects of modern life, it is so important for us to have the ability to expose them to technology as much as possible.
My classroom is a co- taught environment where students with disabilities are included in the same setting as students who are not a part of the Special Education program. Several of the students who do not receive services as a part of the Special Education program are served through our English Language Learners or ELL program. They will use these devices to utilize our school- wide literacy software. Access to this program will help them gain a better understanding of the English language. All students in my classroom will use the devices daily in reading, math, science, and social studies. They will especially make use of the devices during reading and Language Arts blocks as we continue to push for 100% literacy by third grade as a school system. Daily use of these Amazon Fire 7 tablets will increase my student's exposure to technology. It is important for my students to use different types of technology as much as possible at schools as many do not have access to any devices at home.
All of my students will be able to broaden their understanding of the world outside of our small rural town through daily science and mathematics instruction using these Amazon Fire 7 tablets.
It is so important that I expose them to as much new information about the world as I can. These Amazon Fire 7 tablets will allow me to truly make a difference in their lives.
