Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our senior high school is an inner-city Public school. 100% of our students qualified for free lunch and supper. Hopefully, that tells everything about their financial background. But they appreciate the exposure to the STEM programs, and I have highly talented students. I genuinely believe that with more financial support, I can offer more STEM programs.

TEN 80 Racing Challenge team from TJHS won multiple awards at the Ten 80 National STEM League Finals, including the Rookie Award for Data-Driven Design, third place in two races including a semi-final finish losing to the eventual champion, and an impressive 10th Place overall national ranking in their first appearance at the national competition, hosted at Texas A&M University.

My Project

Our printer is in need of ink cartridges. Having a color printer in my classroom is allowing my students to print their creative designs for each Ten80 racing challenge. This printer is also useful for my computer science students. They get their worksheets in color, and that will enhance their understanding of every project. Since my printer ran out of ink cartridges, I am unable to print worksheets. Now I am projecting the sheet on the board so that they can see it in color. I appreciate your time and willingness to help the students in need.
