This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help us build a bilingual Climate and Environment Awareness Library. This focused climate and environment awareness library is designed to cultivate climate awareness education and practices using learning-based strategies that connect the local, regional, and global implications of climate and environmental change with the lives of students.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and awareness of climate and environmental changes but, you will ultimately help to increase student's literacy skills in English and Spanish.

Additionally, this library supports extending climate awareness education beyond the classroom by providing opportunities for students to interact with their

families.

Students will be able to bring the Spanish language books home to read with family members. By doing so, families will be made more aware of the current negative impacts on our environment and climate current. Students and their families will become involved in climate solutions, and engage in English and Spanish conversations and learning obtained through reading and shared experiences.
