I am the lucky teacher of 23 amazing, smart, fun, energetic, artistic, creative, and amusing third graders. We live in a small, rural community. Our school has a diverse culture. Included in our boundary is a Native American reservation from which a good part of our student body comes.
Our students all qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
Even though our cultures and economic situations are varied, our school is a welcoming place of learning, working together, and providing the best for our children.
My Project
Every year in third grade we get to study planets and space! It is a favorite topic!
Students are allowed to choose which planet they want to do a report on.
They are put into groups and work together for two weeks to prepare a report, poster and presentation about their planet. The Fire Kindle Tablets will be used, along with our iPads and Chromebooks to do research on planets.
In our classroom we have flexible seating, which allows for movement and options. We need more seating options. The stacking chairs will be easy to set up and put back according to our days' activities (such as working in groups on our planet reports).
These resources will provide a great opportunity for my students to learn about the earth and the environment in which we live.
