Help me give my students hands-on materials that will ensure they develop a love for learning.

Since elementary school, I knew that my passion was early childhood education. My Kindergarten teacher has always been my inspiration. She was kindhearted, fun, loving, and passionate about wanting the best for all of her students. Every year, I try to be the best teacher for my Kindergarten babies, just as Mrs. Naquin was for me all those years ago. I strive to implement a classroom environment that is positive, fun, engaging, but most importantly provides a hands-on rich in materials environment.
The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child's own natural desire to learn.
The rigor and expectations of Kindergarten makes it challenging to ensure "fun" learning. This school year, I would like to provide my Kinder babies more hands-on materials that correlate to these high expectations at the same time keeping Kindergarten a fun learning environment. My school, TE, provides fundamental education for over 500 students in grades PreKindergarten to 1st grade. Our enrollment has a minority of 65%. My goal is to provide my Kinder babies with the best quality hands-on materials that can enrich them in a love for learning.
After teaching for 21 years in early childhood, I believe the materials I am requesting will provide my Kinder babies hands-on experiences that will afford them the opportunity to achieve the many rigorous standards that are asked of them. My materials will be used in both small group activities and in workstations, where they work with a partner to help each other learn.
A teacher's passion for learning will lead to a student's successful future.
For this project, I chose materials that would assist my students learn and explore in the areas of English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math. To enrich our ELA resources, I selected the following materials Phonemic Awareness Instant Learning kit, Building Words Instant Learning Center, Build the Letter activity, and Find the Letter Activity Center. These learning kits and activity materials will aid my students in enriching their educational foundation in learning letters and sounds, leading them to build words, phrases, and sentences and ultimately become successful readers and writers. To enrich our math resources, I chose an Early Math Instant Learning Center and Ten Frames Magnetic Answer Boards. These materials will assist my students in learning about numbers, addition, subtraction, and the concepts of creating sets of numbers. All of the selected materials will be used in whole group instruction as well as during our station time, where my students work in pairs to interact with materials that supplement our whole group lessons. Funding this project will provide the students in Ms. Alicia's Kindergarten classroom an all around educational foundation to become successful adults in the future!!!!
