My Project

Equity Focus Schools are historically underfunded due to racial and social economic inequity. My incredible students come to school ready to tackle a new year and work hard, but as incoming 6th graders, post pandemic, they are struggling to read and most are 3 to 4 years below grade level.

Motivation is key because by 6th grade struggling students have become discouraged.

Let's create a comfortable, living room like reading corner with these chairs and table to encourage reading for learning and pleasure. Reading doesn't have to always be at a desk when you are in school.
