My Students
I work with at-risk pre-Kindergarten students. Many have had no prior school experience and are learning to navigate the social and emotional aspects of being a part of a group! My classroom is located in a small town near Winston Salem. My assistant and I make a great team and work together to help our students succeed.
My assistant and I believe in promoting literacy.
Many of our students are in the process of learning English. We also feel family engagement is an important aspect in a child's learning.
My Project
With these musical instruments in the Jamtown Around the World Pack, my students will be able to learn about music from other cultures. They will get the chance to not just listen to music from other cultures but personally experience playing various instruments. They can make their own beat! Music helps to integrate other learning areas and my students love to sing and dance. They are just beginning to explore the instruments we do have which aren’t very diverse so I know these diverse instruments will make a big difference in their learning. They can explore how they are made, why they were made and so much more!
