This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The MVHS eSports Team has become an amazing equalizing sport allowing students with disabilities to compete along side their typically developing peers. I am excited to see such a high level of commitment, excitement, cooperation and engagement from all of the students that are involved in the eSports Team. This is our first year and already the team has tripled in size with regular attendance numbers. Many of our players say that our eSports team has given them a place where they finally feel like they belong. We hope to create our own secure esports room at MVHS but also host monthly tournaments for our school's gaming community.

The requested headphones and controllers are to help equalize the playing field this coming January 23rd.

Many of our players with disabilities report that the use of headphones have helped to increase their focus on communication. Our antiquated school PC's only accept wired controllers, so we want to provide controllers that the students used to using on their home devices. I will also be working on a STEM grant for this summer and next fall. But your donation now will help give us that competitive edge we need to go farther than we've been.
