My Project

Although our program is large and successful, there are always methods to improve our sound. Our intermediate and advanced bands learn techniques to help expand the "sound colors" they can achieve. One of those ways is to play pieces that have muted parts in them: the mutes change the way the instrument traditionally sounds.

Every time we play music with muted sections in it, the students' heads whip around because they are fascinated by the unusual sounds.

Unfortunately, the mutes the school currently owns are not high quality and are in terrible shape. Some of them are past the point of repair, and some just sound yucky. Mutes are a luxury not everyone can afford to buy, so the school should supply them for all but the most serious performers.

Help our students play their very best by contributing to some high quality mutes!
