I teach a group of 16 energetic and creative Pre-Kindergarten students that are four and five years old. All of my students come from low income homes. My students are creative and enjoy active learning.
I love that my students come to school every day ready to learn.
They are always asking to learn about things and I teach my lessons based on their interests. They are motivated and love to learn new things. Their favorite thing to do is art- especially experimenting and creating with paint!
My Project
Each morning, I have a morning meeting with my class. We meet at the carpet and talk about what is going on that day. We sing a morning song, talk about the weather and talk about who is missing.
To help encourage literacy, I am asking for a whiteboard to use during our morning meetings.
My goal is to have children take an active part in our meetings by writing on the board. Children can also write ideas on the board. Many of my students are ESL and do not understand English. This will also serve as a visual for students who are more visual learners. I am excited to be incorporating this into my classroom as it will address al learning styles and foster a positive classroom environment.
