My Project
As of now, my classroom doesn't seem very inviting as it feels cold and bare without much texture. We used to have a carpet with bright colors, but it seemed to be too much "noise" for most of my kindergarteners. A lot of them get over stimulated with bright colors, so a spacious cozy carpet with calming colors will allow a safe and comfortable space for them to focus, think, and learn.
This spacious carpet with calming colors will serve as an excellent area for whole group and small group instruction, as well as a fun and calming space for my students to work on activities either with their peers or by themselves.
I am looking forward to seeing my students become more engaged while on the carpet by listening attentively, participating, and interacting with others and/or just working independently. It would be so nice to see them learn and build their skills from a different area other than from their tables and stools.
