Our Lives: Autobiographies Through Digital Photos

My students need 4 cameras to advance their technology skills and add pizzaz to their autobiographical projects.

My Students

We live in a world that depends on technology. Most jobs rely on basic technological skills. But imagine not having the tools to be able to advance!

My students are hardworking and excited to learn.

They all have big hearts and love working on projects on the computer. Our class recently received 6 laptop computers via an educational grant, which greatly increased their technological abilities. My students come from high poverty families, some of which have little experience with photography.

My Project

With the addition of 4 digital cameras, my students will be able to enhance their projects and presentations and include their personal environment in their learning. We begin the year by doing an autobiographical power point presentation, but often, the students have no pictures to include in their presentations. They would also be able to learn the art of basic photography, something many of them are lacking. In this day and age, it's hard to believe that any youngster wouldn't know how to take, upload, and edit pictures! These cameras would provide that opportunity to eager students who need it.

Any donations would really be highly appreciated.

The students in my class are always so grateful for the smallest things, whether it be a snack during recess or something little like a pencil. You could imagine how excited they would be to receive these cameras and how a donation like this would broaden their educational experience.
