My Project

The items I am requesting for our project will make a huge difference in my classroom environment. A light table will give my students more opportunities to develop fine motor skills and improve sensory play skills. The light table specifically is more engaging for students, and encourages them to learn more about what they are playing with. They will be more drawn to the table, and they will be more attentive to what is inside it, whether that be letters, numbers, toys, or colors. This item will be a new activity for my students to play with together, encouraging more interactions with one another and play based learning.

My goals for this project are to introduce new skills to my students, as well as encourage progression in the themes we are already working on in class.

I feel confident that is project would allow my students to be fully interested in the weekly themes of the curriculum as it changes with the light table. Their interactions with each other are so important, and the sensory table would give them another opportunity to interact, and specifically about what we are learning that week.

My students are visual learners, and this table would provoke their interest and imagination, and that is how my students learn best. They love imaginary play, and interaction with each other, and I know this project would benefit their academic learning and social-emotional skills greatly.
