Our Library Needs a Lego Wall!

My students need supplies to construct a Lego Wall in the library where they can build, create, experiment, and explore.

My Students

Middle school is a time for exploration, and we want our library to be a place where students can find more than just a great book! Our school serves a diverse population of students in grades 6-8 who love reading and trying new things.

Our students deserve to have a library Lego Wall where they can learn actively through hands-on planning, creating, and building.

A library Lego Wall would give our students the chance to express themselves visually and develop spatial thinking and fine motor skills through hands-on design.

My Project

The Lego Wall will be a centerpiece of the library and is just the start of more makerspace activities and areas yet to come to our library. A student crew will be formed to assist with implementing this grant and establishing more makerspace concepts.

Students will be involved in all aspects of building the Lego Wall, including measuring the space, installing the tiles, preparing the Lego kits, and creating designs once installed.

Adding a Lego Wall to our library will open the doors to many more makerspace projects in the future. Lego Walls offer students opportunities to expand their spatial thinking and fine motor skills, communicate and work in teams, and simply have fun experimenting and exploring. It will provide a visual reminder to our school community that play is educational!
