My students are full of excitement and eager to learn everyday. They come to school everyday facing challenges that even adults can't imagine. They face challenges in and out of the classroom daily. The students come to school hungry, tired, and in need of love. The students vary in ethnicity, age, and socioeconomic status. We have a wide range of students, including ELL students. The school I work at is low-income, all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. There is also a high rate of transiency. Most students in our district travel to all of our elementary schools before coming back.
Even though they face challenges that may be tough, they come to school everyday with a smile on their face.
They really are excited to learn and be at school. These students put their best foot forward everyday in order to achieve their true potential.
Everyday I try to create a classroom that is engaging, fun, educational, and most of all safe. While students are in my care I strive to do my very best to create a positive learning environment for all. I cannot control what happens outside of my classroom walls, but I can control
My Project
Headphones will help us become better readers and mathematicians. In my classroom we use two computer programs. These programs are, Lexia Core 5, and XTRA Math. Both of these programs require headphones for an effective and influential learning environment. We will be using these headphones during centers in order to complete these two programs.
The headphones would allow students to grow and learn as individual, as well as gain confidence in themselves.
These headphones will also be used during Dolphin Zone, our after school program. Students after school work on Lexia and XTRA math as their instructional time. The students who would use them after school are my fourth graders. We spend a lot of time on the iPad's in class, but need all of the tools in order to use them successfully.
The ELL students in my classroom would benefit from the headphones tremendously. It would helps translate and allow students to use the programs they need to be successful.
