My third graders have fallen in love with Malala. We read about a young girl who changed the world through using her voice to stand up for girls' right to education.
In order to supplement this amazing unit, I'd like my students TO HAVE THEIR OWN MALALA BOOK TO READ.
I'D LIKE TO PURCHASE A CLASS SET OF THE FOLLOWING BOOKS: Malala Yousafzai: Warrior with Words/ by Karen Leggett Abouraya & For the Right to Learn: Malala Yousafzai's Story/ by Rebecca Langston-George.
My Project
These books will enhance the students' opportunity to learn firsthand about Malala's life: her struggle and her successes. These books illustrate her life for a younger audience in order to both inspire them and to engage them through visuals (unlike chapter books).
Through the addition of these books, I hope to try to recreate the iMovie project we did last year on Vimeo.
With these books, my students will have more resources and inspiration to create another amazing project highlighting the work and bravery of Malala. The visuals will help students to create Malala quote collages. The words will add to their research for our Vimeo iMovie project. THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO HELPS DONATE TO THIS SPECIAL PROJECT.
