Our Growing Piano Lab!

My students need 4 folding tables to use for our portable piano keyboard studio.

My Students

I teach General Music grades K-5 at a Title I school where over 80% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My school is highly diverse in ethnicity with students from several world areas. My students are eager to experience all I can provide in music, especially instruments and technology they would otherwise not have available at home. Specifically I teach vocal music, recorders, bucket drumming, world drumming and piano keyboards.

My classroom is the only opportunity for musical development for most of them.

And they thrive on it!

I believe that musical knowledge without purpose becomes trivia, so I am a strong believer in getting the kids playing instruments and applying what they have learned as quickly and as often as I can. The problem is I never have enough instruments or technology to go around!

My Project

The favorite part of our music room is our growing piano lab! Soon we hope to have enough keyboards so an entire class can learn and play together! But we still need help!!! We need 4 more tables to use as keyboard stands so we don't have to play them on the floor.

While it is most important to have the keyboards, learning to play them with the correct posture is vital to student success.

Having the keyboards on tables creates the right alignment and height for my students and makes the overall experience better!

So please help us achieve our dreams of learning to play like Beethoven and help our piano lab to grow!
