Our Girls Need Sports Gear!

My students need jerseys for the girl's flag football and girl's volleyball teams.

My Students

The population my school serves is mostly minority students comprised of 70% Black Non-Hispanic (a vast majority of these are of Haitian-Creole descent), 22% Hispanic, 5% White Non-Hispanic, and 3% Asian/Indian/Multiracial.

The school as a whole is classified as a Title I school, which is a school with a high percentage of children from low-income families, to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.

We are designated as a STEM school and the students I personally teach are represented in our STEM-based magnet program.

My Project

Our current uniforms for girls flag football and volleyball teams are very worn, many having been stained by sweat, some have holes, and some with fading numbers. Uniforms for both teams are some of the oldest in our possession.

Supporting this project with uniforms will give our girls that extra boost of confidence as they step onto their field of play.

You will also allow us to focus our fundraising efforts on transportation and officials fees. This would be a tremendous help!

Additionally, for our flag football team, we need to protect them with mouth guards. For our volleyball team, we will use the solo trainers to help them work on serving. The practice net will be used to help our softball teams with batting practice.

Lastly, we will need the striping machine to line our fields for soccer and flag football.
