Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have a few garden beds in our school, but no one has been taking care of them. I want my students to start tending to our gardens and start a vegetable garden.

We will use the garden tools to pull the weeds and start digging up the hard, dry soil.

Then we will put new soil to start our vegetable garden.

In addition, other teachers and staff can take students outside for outdoor learning in our garden spaces. They can create lessons based around tending to our garden. Some of these include investigations about plants and their needs. I hope our garden projects continue for many years to come.
