Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students make up a very talented group of high school STEM students. They all plan to pursue careers in STEM - related fields, and projects like this helps by giving them a head start. They are very special because they have been together since middle school, and their work ethic makes them excel at whatever they put their minds to.

They are always striving to learn new things that not only apply to robotics and academics, but also in their future lives.

For example, a member on our team, is always taking time to research out of school to gain a better understanding of what he is dealing with as well as spread his knowledge with the rest of the team. For instance, he went home after having trouble with designing the arm and researched the issue in depth. He then returned the next day and knew more than even I knew about arm design!

In addition to that, another student always wants to help the team more by learning new things and enhancing his knowledge and understanding of robotics. For instance, he spent a lot of time outside of school learning the different functions in the programming language.

My Project

We started a FTC and FRC robotics team 2 years ago and ever since then we have struggled in getting help and the materials needed. Throughout those two years my students have had to do things in the hardest manner possible without much access to technology that would not only facilitate their lives', but also allow them to analyze things on a much more complex ways.

Every time we are at a robotics competition my student's need to scout other robotics teams and write down extensive information about what the team's robot can do all by hand.

These materials would help greatly so that we can take and analyze other team's data in a much easier manner and faster way so that we can be on the road to success and go to World Championships.

I want to teach the student's that this technology can be used for more than just saving time in our doings but to take valuable data that can be then transferred into very large data sheets and can be analyzed for patterns in the teams.
