Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Personal hygiene health has become a sensitive but also an overwhelming life experiencing situation in our school. The scholars in my school means the world to me and their self love is the best thing in the world. All of the scholars in our school are in need of personal hygiene items to use during this school year. This month we were discussing all of their fears and phobias and it personally hurt to know they expressed more concern about being "bullied" due to the smell of their own bodies. After giving this scary situation much thought, I came up with a solution that may help them. I felt personally responsible for educating my little scholars on how to stay clean even when they do not have the resources or support to do so. Starting from the bottom to the top the goal of this project is to promote to the scholars that healthy living does include being able to provide personal care for themselves.
