My Students

I am the technology integration specialist in a Kindergarten-4th grade school that is a mostly Title I school district. I am able to work with students and teachers to help integrate technology into their lessons. My students are eager to learn and love using technology. Many of my students do not have technology at home and so their only opportunity to use technology is at school. There are just over 430 students in my school, and it truly is like a family. The 4th-grade students love to see their kindergarten teacher in the hallway just as much as their kindergarten teacher loves seeing them!

My Project

My students love anything related to stem and coding, but their experiences are typically limited to what we can do on the computer. The Dash & Dot wonder pack will give them the opportunity to experience hands-on coding.

Students will be able to use their critical thinking skills as they use various apps to code.

It will be great for a variety of ages, so I will be able to use the materials in all of my Kindergarten through 4th-grade classes.

Coding on the computer has helped students think critically in their other core classes. It is my hope that the hands-on Dash & Dot will provide even more experiences for students to make math and science connections.
