Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in my classes need access to basic supplies in the upcoming school year. Please help me help them succeed. I teach a diverse population of students ranging from general education, special education, and English language learners from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school, meaning students come from many other social and economic circumstances. I teach English to six classes every year with 12 to 30 students depending on if they are in self-contained special education classes or ICT classes with all three populations in each class. My students are located in the Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, Woodside and Corona areas of Queens which have been hit very hard by this pandemic. Please support their education which makes a path for their future.
