My students need 38 easy-to-read and early reader books, that they find interesting and engaging, in our classroom library.

My Students

My students need more books of high interest that are at an appropriate reading level.

I teach in a small town in Alabama in a Title 1 school.

Our school is considered to be in a high poverty area. Currently, I have 17 students who are full of energy and enjoy reading although many have very limited resources of books and school supplies at home.

My Project

Pairing students with appropriate text is extremely important to literacy success. Now that my students have become better at decoding and increased their sight word vocabulary, they need books of high interest that they can read independently. Our classroom library has a limited number of books that are easy to read. In addition, there are numerous topics of interest that our library is missing.

Make a difference in my students' life by sharing my vision for a better classroom library.

Your donation can keep the students in my classroom reading by providing them with the right texts. Research has shown that fluency improves with the amount of reading a child does. Keep my students reading by providing a new and improved selection of books in the classroom library.
