My Students
My school has been serving K-6 students, both military dependents and local residents, since 1956 as part of the Hawaii State Department of Education. My classroom integrates a remarkably diverse population that includes Filipinos, Caucasians, African-Americans, Samoans, and Asian-Americans.
I am an elementary school special education teacher, teaching students where small groups, close proximity, and acceptance is very important.
My students range in abilities and grade levels, which makes my classroom a fun and unique environment to be a part of.
My Project
These requested reading materials will make a difference in the lives of my students by giving them the gift of reading books that are not only enjoyable, but at their level!
When students read, we are looking to see if they can comprehend and read with fluency.
With these requested books I'll be ready with leveled book series including Pete the Cat, Biscuit, Elephant and Piggie, and Splat the Cat. This is a way to meet their needs and generate lots of interest in reading!
It is my goal for students to leave my classroom with the love of reading! These books will help not only with their leveled reading but social emotional learning, as well.
These amazing books will enhance the classroom library for students to enjoy now and for many, many years to come!
