"Music is such an important part of an academic program, not just fine arts. It's one of the fundamental components in the no child left behind act.”

Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain, a fact that makes it valuable in all areas of development. Music affects the growth of a child’s brain academically, emotionally, and physically. A recent study from the University of California found that music trains the brain for higher forms of thinking.
I integrate various types of music into our school day. In the morning I play soothing relaxing music and during independent work activities I select invigerating stimulating music. Our classroom was supplied with a 1990 Tape/CD player with crackly speakers.
If we had an MP3 player, I would be able to sort and categorize our music by genre, speed, and composer. My students would receive a wonderful mix of music that is suited for the activity we are pursuing.
You will make it possible for all of my students to be exposed to a variety of stimulating and relaxing music.
