I teach Preschool at a Title 1 school, which means most are economically disadvantaged students. I have 10 girls and 8 boys that are so excited to come to school every day. This is a free program offered that parents voluntarily put them into preschool at the age of 4.
Most of my students have never been away from their mothers before starting Pre-K.
I love to see their bright smiles every morning. It is such a great feeling to know that I am able to teach so many little ones and show them that learning can be lots of fun.
My Project
There are a variety of items that I have added to this project. The first one is the organization listening center storage unit. It will be used to keep the CDs, headphones, and books organized. Without this our center could be a mess. The other items are to provide additional hands on experiences. When teaching Math, it is convenient to have something "Kid-size" that they can use to sort items by color, size, shape, etc. We are also in need of some different water and sand table items. The variety of toys allows the students to explore different ways to play.
The "emotional eggs" will help me teach social and emotional needs which is essential to Pre-K.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
