My Students

My band students are learners from a struggling Appalachian area in West Virginia. My students are hard-working and talented, but not all of them have the proper tools and resources to help them succeed.

Our desire is to build a jazz band program.

In order to do so, we need a bari saxophone to complete the reed section. Our school doesn't have the funds to provide this instrument, and it is far too expensive to ask a family to purchase.

My Project

My band students are learners from a struggling Appalachian area in West Virginia. The students are hard-working and talented, but not all of them have the proper tools and resources to help them succeed. One of the most challenging things about being a band director is supplying students with the more expensive, but essential instruments that make up the lower sounds of the band.

Instruments such as the bari sax are important to create that rich, warm sound in an ensemble, but the cost is prohibitive to the individual student.

This is why our school needs a bari sax that would stay with the school and be used for years to come. Would you consider supporting my band students? Thank you for your generosity!
