This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal is to engage and encourage students to be creative while learning another language. These materials would greatly impact their learning experience as it will allow us to be more inclusive, engaging, and productive when learning about another culture, Deaf culture. Using drawing materials, colored paper, and other crafting materials can help engage students into being more involved in their own learning.

Adding creative projects and activities allows hands-on experiences for students who need more than just bookwork and memorizing words.

I plan to use the children’s books to build students’ vocabulary and practice interpreting the meaning versus merely learning signs from English to ASL.
