My Students

My students are unique learners and are diagnosed with Autism. They are attentive, observant, and loving. They love to help their peers and adults in various capacities. They enjoy coming to school, which is displayed through their emotions throughout the day. They can complete various learning tasks and activities independently; however, they rely on prompts at times. They use communication devices and picture symbols to communicate and engage in classroom tasks. It is essential that students have a sense of belonging and play an active part within the classroom. My students attend school in a low-income neighborhood in an urban setting.

My Project

My students need your help in obtaining a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine and vinyl sheets.

Art is an important part of students learning.

"Art speaks where words are unable to explain."

In obtaining these resources students will be able to create unique designs such as images and letters which can be displayed on the bulletin boards or hung in the classroom. These resources will motivate students, integrate technology, and promote collaboration with their peers. Students will be fostered with opportunities to explain their work.

My students take pride in their work and often stop to look at the bulletin boards. They enjoy a bright, colorful and creative classroom. These resources will help to promote art in the classroom and teach students a new world of design. They will be able to learn how to drag images and type a specific word/phrase on the computer. After which they will be able to see their creative designs come alive when it is printed.
