Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our rural school community is highly engaging. My students are eager to learn and expand their curiosity in the Social Studies area. It is amazing how they can share their experiences about the past as well as to establish connections with our present.

Most importantly, my students love to work with hand-on activities as well as to practice their communication skills during presentations dialogues, and in-class projects.

In addition, my students begin to practice their verbal skills by doing simple presentations in which they bring an ancient object to be described in class, while the class take notes about the described object.

My Project

The items listed such as biographies and printer will definitely help my students to learn from home since readings can be scanned and placed in digitally in a pdf form for the students to have access at home. With the distance learning protocols, it is fundamental that we make our students engaged while they learn from home to keep them focused. In addition, biographical readings about past and current heroes can help us to promote good moral values such as responsibility, honesty, and justice.

Moreover, through the inclusion of all these heroes biographies, we can help our students to explore on the heroes lives in which they can practice ethics and appropriate behavior while conducting their own presentations and dialogues through online learning.
