This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fourth grade students are avid readers and writers. They have a variety of alternative seating options, and love being empowered with the choice of where to sit in my classroom.
Having four new bright blue ottoman benches would provide my students with new alternative seating options during their reading and writing time.
They would use the benches every day during our Daily 5 time while I meet with guided reading groups. The surface of the benches is easy to clean. They are comfortable to sit on because they are filled with beans and would fit up to two students. This would be the perfect place for students to read with a partner.
My fourth graders would adore having four new ottoman benches to sit on while working on literacy skills.
