My students are extra special to me because I have had the opportunity to work with them and get to know their personalities for the last several years before becoming a teacher. Many of my students deal with issues and stress in their home lives that young children should be exempt from, yet they continue to persevere and show up with mostly positive attitudes every day! I am committed to making their time at school with me fun, positive, and effective. My way of doing this is to provide exciting and engaging lessons where students are eager and excited to participate, as well as ensure that they feel loved, supported, and cared for.
These requested books will allow my students a more diverse classroom library to choose from when they are selecting books for their free reading time. My students come from very diverse backgrounds and I want to reinforce this with the literature selections that they have to choose from.
These books will allow my students to engage in and read about diverse situations and events that they may not be too familiar with.
These books will allow my students to think about topics and situations that they may have not considered before, which will open new ideas and perspectives that they can benefit from early on.
