I am currently a contract occupational therapist (OT) at a title one school located in Staten Island,NY. Being a contract OT does not provide me with budgeting to get the supplies needed to help students achieve access to education and aid to their academic success. All my students are effected by learning , language, or emotional disabilities and would greatly benefit from any additional help and supplies!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The flexible seating and sensory tools will be placed in classrooms for some of our students in need in order to improve their classroom functioning and performance levels.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' academic success while reducing barriers that limit student participation within the school environment.
