Help me give my students fun activities that they can participate in the classroom and during occupational therapy sessions to enhance their fine motor, visual motor, body awareness skills to be able to learn and grow!
I am an occupational therapist working within the elementary school with students in preschool all the way through fifth grade. My students are an amazing group of children who need a little extra help to address their fine motor, visual motor, self care skills, and improve body awareness and safety within the school so that they can focus, learn and follow directions successfully.

My students often struggle with their fine motor skills, i.e. being able to use their hands and fingers appropriately to pick up and manipulate items in the classroom. This can help their grasp to hold a pencil or crayon, be able to button up and zip their own jacket, open and close classroom and lunch materials, ect. These students also need help with their visual motor skills, meaning that they need to improve their hand and eye coordination in order to complete writing letters and words with the correct size, maintaining letters on the line, and using correct spaces. I utilize a multi-sensory approach to writing using various materials to help my students learn and become successful with their writing.
