Osmos for Littles

My Students

I teach 18 kindergarten age students who love school! Most of my students come from low to middle-income homes, and with cuts to funding, there is not money in our budgets for anything outside of basic supplies. I strive to give them the loving, supportive environment that they deserve while they are in my care so they can have the best chance at growing, learning, loving, and just being a kid with no worries!

Kindergarten is such an important developmental period in children's lives, and developmentally appropriate practices of movement, play, and choice are often being swept under the rug with the increasing academic demands being placed on our students.

However, research actually supports that using these practices increases student learning, growth, and achievement! Therefore, it is important to me to give my ALL to my kinders' growing minds, no matter where they come from or how different they are: a place where they have the best chance at flourishing and developing into great learners and people!

My Project

Students love anything technology. It grabs their attention and holds it. This is one reason why Osmo is a must for any classroom. Osmo make differentiating instruction easy in order to meet the individual need of each student. There are different games and activities like Osmo Hot Wheels Mind Racers Kit where students will race through digital worlds. This game is competitive, skill based, and challenging. With Osmo Coding Jam students can place tangible blocks into patterns and sequences to make music and with Coding Awbie students will learn all about the world of coding. Students will learn real word math with Osmo Pizza Co. as they run their very own pizza joint. Osmo Numbers games will help students develop math confidence by playing with number tiles. Students can practice number identification along with addition and subtraction. I am also requesting to get the Osmo Genius Kit. This kit includes 5 activities and a base. These games focus on spatial awareness, word building, and creative problem solving. Osmo not only helps students practice core curriculum skills, but their critical thinking skills as well.

When students are using Osmo, they are engaged in their learning and having a blast at the same time!

I am grateful to have been given an Osmo starter kit and it is such a great resource for the classroom. I am excited to have the opportunity to add to our Osmo resources.
