Help me give my students 5 Osmos for independent learning literacy and math stations. These kits will allow my students to explore letters, words, numbers, and shapes in a new and innovative way.
Kindergarten is full of learning, laughter, fun, and investigation! My kindergarten class consists of 20 energetic students. Some of my students are ESL (English as a Second Language) learners, they come to me at the beginning of the year with little to no English. And for many of my students, this is their very first school experience.
More than three-quarters of our students are from low-income households.
Making over 76% of our student population eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
With these Osmos kits, my kindergartners will be able to work independently or with a partner to practice literacy and math skills in a way that feels like play. The Osmo interacts with the student while fostering creative and collaborative learning. When paired with an iPad, the Osmo transforms the iPad into an interactive learning station.
Students use what skills they know while deepening their knowledge through problem-solving and communication in fun hands-on activities.
They use physical objects to solve math puzzle problems, work with words, and improve fine motor skills through drawing. These Osmos will be used by students daily during our math and literacy stations.
Osmo is a fun way to interact with technology that gets students excited about learning while using their iPads in a new and creative manner. Donations for this project will give students the opportunity to use technology in a meaningful way by promoting creative thinking and collaboration.
