This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach reading intervention and small groups at a Title I school serving a diverse group of students, many of whom are reading below grade level and face significant academic challenges. Despite these obstacles, my students come to school every day eager to learn and grow. They are resilient, curious, and determined to succeed as readers. My students benefit most from engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support their individual learning styles.

They require instruction that is highly visual, interactive, and responsive to their needs.

As part of my ongoing professional development, I am requesting a DJI Osmo to enhance my reading intervention lessons. This tool will allow me to create high-quality, interactive, and visually engaging learning content that I can use in both live and recorded instruction. With the DJI Osmo, I will be able to film small-group lessons, model reading strategies, and demonstrate activities that help students build foundational literacy skills in phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.

I will use this technology to strengthen my instructional practices, reflect on my teaching, and ensure I am delivering the most effective lessons possible to my struggling readers. This project supports my professional growth by allowing me to refine my practice, create engaging resources, and share successful strategies with colleagues. It will help me design lessons that are more dynamic, visually clear, and accessible to all learners. Although this is a professional learning tool, my students will directly benefit from the lessons I create.

The DJI Osmo will help me deliver instruction that is more engaging, hands-on, and clear, especially for students who need visual supports and step by step modeling like my ENL students, and Students with Disabilities.

These improvements in my teaching will lead to better student outcomes, more confidence in reading, and a stronger foundation for future success.
