My Students
I teach preschool in a low income district where some of my students come to me with both limited vocabularies and limited experiences. It is my job to provide them a variety of learning adventures by using art, technology, mathematics, reading, music, science, etc. as the means to their social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth.
The good news is that my preschoolers come through the door eager to learn new information, and their development soars once immersed in an intentionally enriching and purposeful learning environment.
We need materials that will enable us to integrate the many disciplines, provoke curiosity and critical thinking, as well as develop creativity and natural abilities. With your help we could insure that our little ones will be set on the path to be the innovators of tomorrow.
My Project
In the Pre-K classroom, hands-on, collaborative, critical thinking activities are at the top of the priority list of experiences for our population of students.
Osmo Little Genius, along with a new, working iPad, will help to meet the state standards for Technology and not only provide a holistic approach to early learning, but also help to support the development of 21st Century skills.
Because Osmo pairs manipulative materials with technological software, it will help to take our classroom to the next level by supporting creativity, critical thinking and problem solving while working to acquire letter recognition, writing and literacy skills.
