My students need an Osmo Genius Kit and Pizza Co. game to use for learning opportunities in art, music, science, literacy, math, and increasing their English proficiency.
This project expired on June 7, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are bilingual and in some cases, trilingual! They love learning about the world, different cultures, and growing in their English proficiency. Almost half of our students qualify to receive English as a Second Language services. These students range in their English proficiency from recently arrived to the US, to near native-like speakers.
Our school is incredibly diverse and students from all different backgrounds learn to work and think together!
They are hard workers and strive to do their best. Our population is racially and culturally diverse, with equal proportions of Black, White, Somali, and Latino students.
I recently got an iPad from DonorsChoose.org, and now I want to extend my students' learning with Osmo Genius Kit and Pizza Co. game. These items integrate with the iPad to turn it into a hands-on learning tool!
Osmo is a device that students can connect to an iPad and use to explore art, music, literacy, math, engineering, vocabulary and more in a totally hands-on way.
Using Osmo Masterpiece, students can learn to draw anything they can find or take a picture of. This tool will be especially useful when learning new vocabulary in English. The Pizza Co. game teaches students about money denominations and making change and recognizing and following patterns. With other Osmo Genius apps, students can practice vocabulary and spelling words, develop fluency with their math facts, and more.
