My students are Special Education Students who are performing below their grade levels. They are in second grade but their functional level is K-1 grade. They have disabilities like Emotional Disability, Intellectual Disability, Autism, and ADHD. My students need adults to feed and change them, they require hands-on activities to encourage student engagement and community-based learning/involvement. We are working on skills like recognizing names, opening and closing doors, reciting and writing personal data, and work based skills. We work on counting and making purchases from vending machines and our local stores.
Osmo will teach the following:
Coding with Coding, Coding Jam and Coding Duo
Math with Pizza Co. and Numbers
Drawing skills and creative confidence with Monster, Super Studio, and Masterpiece
Spelling and critical thinking with Words
Spatial relational skills with Tangram
World geography and cultural competency with Detective Agency
Osmo Words is a fun problem-solving tool that will helps my students practice spelling, vocabulary and critical thinking. There is a fun team play mode which allows two teams of up to four to play on a single iPad.
Osmo Numbers will not only pick the number you’ll solve for, but how you’ll solve for it. When kids get the idea that there are multiple good ways to solve a problem, math becomes creative and fun.
