This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is important to have an organized classroom. Everything flows better when materials are easily accessible and organized. We have a lot of math manipulatives in my fourth-grade classroom. We use cubes for counting, fraction kits that enable students to work with unit fractions, protractors for measuring, and more. These are all essential materials that help my students grasp math concepts that might be difficult for them. Handling manipulatives enables them to work at their own pace in building important concepts while allowing them to see what they are doing and why when working with numbers.
I want to keep our math materials easily accessible and organized for my students.
The 27-drawer storage center will enable me to get rid of the many baskets and small boxes that currently store our manipulatives. With this cart, I will be able to create a designated math area where students can grab what they need. They will be able to access manipulatives, a variety of paper, and other tools necessary for building important math skills and strategies they will use for a lifetime.
