Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These materials will help bring organization to our Phonics and Math Centers in our Kindergarten Dual Language classroom. While learning two languages in all content areas, we are also working on building independence in our littles each and everyday. During Phonics and Math centers, students rotate and work on different skills, appropriate for their skill level. They work on it for a set amount of time and then clean up and rotate to another center.
These materials will help bring organization to our current system, where students can be self-efficient in cleaning and placing back in a focused location for future use.
The materials will help keep materials separate by language of focus, but also by content and skill. This way my students can also know where materials are at all times, even when I happen to meet my other duties of being out of my classroom and a substitute teacher is in the room.
This will help me support my students' continued independence, as well as focus on supporting my small group instruction and not continuously stop to grab resources for my students. They will be able to grab at their reach, use the resources to learn, and place back in the location, with minimal support.
