My Students
My students are a great group of kids. They are 9th graders, and many have autism and other developmental disabilities or special learning needs. They need more than a teacher who tells them what to do; they need an adult who will listen to them and work with them on their individual needs.
In the words of Temple Grandin, "Kids have to be exposed to different things to develop.
A child's not going to find out he likes to play a musical instrument if you never exposed him to it."
My classroom assistant and I create a positive and interactive learning environment where our kids know that they are welcome, loved, appreciated, are safe, and can succeed.
My Project
It will be very beneficial for our students to be able to store their activities, supplies, classroom tools, and other items we have in clear bins and drawers for safe and organized keeping.
For students, being organized is particularly important since it helps them learn how to prioritize activities, set and achieve goals, and reduce stress.
Having good organizational skills also makes it easier to collaborate with others and helps increase productivity and efficiency.
