This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sixth graders are just a little messy, but organization is our new favorite word.
The students at my school are all amazing.
They come from difficult backgrounds sometimes, and it is hard to provide them with some of the materials that they need on a daily basis. This year my school was able to provide every student with a math binder. It is wonderful to give students at our school the materials that they will need everyday.
My Project
The students have been carrying their math binders around all year and some of them are looking a little rough around the edges. The students are doing their best to keep them in good condition, but a place in the classroom to store them would be great. I am asking for two bookshelves for each of my classes to have a place to keep their binders. This way students will not have to replace them throughout the year.
This is a great opportunity to provide a little organization for the classroom that will also help with classes to come.
Each year students will be able to keep their notebooks at school and this will minimize the amount of money students will have to pay out of pocket (or I will have to pay out of pocket) to replace the math binders.
