Organizing Classroom and Instructional Materials for a Safe School Reopening

Help me give my students the gift of an organized and uncluttered classroom. Storage Bin Boxes will help me and my staff re-organize our classroom materials in preparation to safely reopen and welcome our students back.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an Early Childhood Special Education teacher working with 6-12 preschool students diagnosed with autism, sensory processing disorder, speech and language delay and multiple-handicaps with low cognitive skills. As a result of schools shutting down physical buildings, I have been seeing my students via video streaming sessions. Some of my students are non-speaking or have limited speech. However, that does not hinder them to reach their best potential in participating with the use of personalized hands-on materials and basic supplies.

My goal is to provide a classroom for my students that is safe, organized, welcoming, exciting, engaging and offers opportunities for exploration, and prepares my students for future academic success.

My Project

Organization is a priority for our special education preschool classroom. By keeping everything in order, a successful learning environment for both teacher and students can be created. In turn, there will then be more time available for teaching and less time spent searching for the necessary educational tools. Storage Bin Boxes will help me and my staff re-organize our classroom in preparation to safely reopening and welcoming our students back.

Having a set of organized instructional materials placed in plastic bin containers makes teaching easier.

Accessibility through visibility is easily achieved with the use of clear storage containers in the preschool classroom. Keeping school supplies in see-through boxes and adding labels does double duty for organization and order. Because contents can been seen through the box, items that aren’t used all the time can be stored up high as they are still visually accessible. Having all items available visually saves time for both teacher and students.
