This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher of 21, intelligent, resourceful and energetic students in a 4th grade monolingual classroom in Waukegan, IL. Over 90% of my students come from hardworking, minority families. At the same time, most of my students live in a low income, high needs community.

I want my classroom to be an environment where they come in excited and eager to learn.

To achieve this, I want to give them as many updated and modern tools as I can create independent and lifelong learners.

My Project

My classroom recently became one to one, laptops to students. I work in an old building where the classroom only has four outlets. It is extremely difficult to make sure all of the Chromebooks are charged, organized, and safe. This cart will help me do all of that! It will also keep all of the laptops away and locked when I am not in the classroom to prevent students from misusing them.

With the new access to computers and the digital world, the students will not only be able to complete more individualized lesson, but they will also have the ability to learn technological skills.

With the world becoming more digitalized they will need for to learn these skills for future schooling and for other aspects of their lives. This cart will help the students have technology at their finger-tips.
