This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 2 classes of English learners attending the dual language program at our Title I school. They come from various Spanish speaking countries. They come eager to learn. They attend the Spanish class 50% of the day and the English class the other 50%. Their families are also enthusiastic to help their students learn and support their students with the curriculum in their own languages and dialects so that their students understand the concepts being taught in the classroom.
My Project
I teach 2 classes. I am the English partner to a dual language program at our Title I school. The organizers will help keep the two classes' work separate from each other. I want to use each set of trays for centers such as phonics, spelling, grammar, and decodable books. The students will know which organizers belong to their class and will be able to get the materials they need for their group work as I work with one group at a time. The flexibility of using the organizers will enable me to change the centers to science, social studies and math.
